What began as an informal reunion among a small group of DU graduates in 1998 quickly turned into a powerful movement. Alumni began organizing annual reunions, picnics, cultural programs and literary publications — all driven by love for their alma mater and pride in their Bangladeshi identity.
By 2012, after many successful activities and growing participation, the community formally incorporated as Dhaka University Alumni Forum Inc. (DUAFI) — creating a unified, sustainable platform for all DU graduates in the DC–MD–VA region.
Since then, DUAFI has continued to strengthen alumni fellowship and lead meaningful community initiatives grounded in education, heritage, and service.
To build a strong, inclusive platform that fosters fellowship among Dhaka University alumni, promotes Bangladeshi culture and heritage, and supports educational and charitable initiatives in both the U.S. and Bangladesh.

Whether through community service, scholarships, or social gatherings, DUAFI strives to honor the legacy of Dhaka University and contribute meaningfully to both local and global communities.
With unwavering pride in its roots and a clear vision for the future, DUAFI continues to grow as a symbol of unity, service, and lifelong connection for all who once called Dhaka University home.
