Why Become a Member?

Becoming a DUAFI member means staying connected to your alma mater and being part of a vibrant, supportive alumni community. Membership gives you access to exclusive reunions, cultural programs, professional networking opportunities, and community service initiatives.

It also helps support important educational programs and scholarships for current Dhaka University students — allowing us to give back together.

Membership FAQ

An eligible member will be a person who fulfills all the criteria below:

    1. Bachelor and/or Post-graduate degree(s) of the Dhaka University main campuses.
    2. Was affiliated with one of the residential halls of Dhaka University.
    3. Currently lives in the Greater Washington DC Metro area (DC, MD, VA).

                Exception:

                 M.Phil and/or Ph.D. graduates from Dhaka University are also eligible for membership even if they do not have any hall affiliation.

There are two way to apply for DUAFI membership:

    1. By fill-up ONLINE APPLICATION
    2. By emailing the word doc application to duafiboard@duafi.org

Please attach the following with your membership application:

  • pdf/image copy of the Degree Certificate of Dhaka University.
  • Membership Fee
  1. $30.00 per year for regular member
  2. $15.00 per year for Graduate / Post-Doc Students

There are multiple ways you can use to pay the DUAFI membership.

  • By sending check to the following persons. Please write the check payable to “DUAFI”, and “Your Name and Department Name” in the memo.

  • By using the following QR code
  • By Zelle / Venmo / any electronic transfer to either DUAFI President or Treasurer. Please contact at duafiboard@duafi.org for this information.

 

YES. For the convenience, the members can choose to pay multiple years of their membership fee.

  • A member can pay maximum of two years when paying online.
  • A member can pay more than two years of their member fee when paying by check.

Membership fees are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to participate during the current membership year, the Board may, at its discretion, carry your membership forward to the following year.
